This event started from last year, and this concert was the second time.<\/p>\n<p>Shamisen and Koto are the Japanese stringed musical instruments. Shakuhachi is a vertical Japanese flute made of a bamboo stem.<\/p>\n<p>At the concert, students and staffs played the music familiar from ancient Japan. The collaboration of students and staffs is unlikely to seen in other concerts.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3711\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/culture\/assets\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC_6453-610x407.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_6453\" width=\"610\" height=\"407\" \/><\/p>\n<p>8 songs were played in total.<\/p>\n<p>The first song, \u201cHaru no Umi\u201d is very popular. It expresses the scene of peaceful Seto Inland Sea in spring. It was very comfortable.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3713\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3713 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/culture\/assets\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC_65001-610x407.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_65001\" width=\"610\" height=\"407\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ai TAKAGI<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The forth song was \u201cSan San Sakura\u201d. You can imagine the cherry blossoms in full bloom from this song.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3714\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3714 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/culture\/assets\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC_64871-610x407.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_64871\" width=\"610\" height=\"407\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Yukiko DOI, Tatsuya SEKI<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The sixth song, \u201cGekka Bijin\u201d expresses one beautiful white flower that can bloom only one night. It is similar to the sweet sound of the Koto.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3715\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3715\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/culture\/assets\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC_64961-610x407.jpg\" alt=\"\u6e21\u9089\uff08\b\u3078\u3093\u304c\u3057\u3093\u306b\u3087\u3046\uff09\u53cb\u7406\" width=\"610\" height=\"407\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Yuri WATANABE<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The seventh song was \u201cHigurashi\u201d. The sunset at the end of the summer and the shrilling of Higurashi, one of the cicada, are described in this song. At the last of the song, the Koto was strummed like the chorus of Higurashi.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3717\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3717\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/culture\/assets\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC_65011-610x407.jpg\" alt=\"\u7af9\u5185\u91cc\u5948\" width=\"610\" height=\"407\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rina TAKEUCHI<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The last song was \u201cChidori\u201d. It has the lyrics from Kokin Wakashu (Collection of Ancient and Modern Japanese Poetry). It expresses a scene where the plovers fly over the beach.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3718\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3718\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/culture\/assets\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC_64881-610x407.jpg\" alt=\"\u5927\u77f3\u52c7\u4eba\" width=\"610\" height=\"407\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hayato OISHI<\/p>\n<p>I felt the beauties of the nature from these songs.<\/p>\n<p>Fall is in full swing. The Kimono made the atmosphere comfortable and the sound beautiful. It was wonderful.<\/p>\n<p>\u30fbAlthough the classics are wonderful, \u201cSan San Sakura\u201d was spectacular performance. \u201cBlack Hair\u201d was very good. \u201cChidori\u201d was the best singing and performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u30fbEveryone is very young but very good at singing and playing the music. I was surprised at the Higurashi\u2019s shrilling.<\/p>\n<p>\u30fbThis is the first time I\u2019ve listened to the Japanese traditional music concert.
