In October 2018, the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) and Waseda University decided to hold a training camp for Team Italy <\/span>in advanced of the Olympic Games <\/span>at Waseda\u2019s Tokorozawa Campus in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result, 15 people, including members of the Italian National Olympic Committee and coaches from different sports federations, visited the Tokorozawa Campus for inspection on Thursday, November 14, 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

The tour started at 9:30 am, and took the party to the athletics field, gymnasium, training room, and pool they will use next year, as well as the new research dormitory to be completed by next June.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the tour, a welcome reception organized by the university was held in the evening.<\/span><\/p>\n

A total of 40 people representing Saitama Prefecture, Tokorozawa City, and Waseda University gathered to welcome the visiting Italians. The evening began with a greeting from the Vice President for Student Affairs, Sports Promotion and Olympic\/Paralympic Projects, Hidenori Tomozoe, and was followed by a message from the representatives of VIVASEDA (a student-led organization for the Olympics and Paralympics) to Team Italy, an exchange of gifts, and a commemorative photo.<\/span><\/p>\n
