Ayami Oishi
Born in Aichi in 1991, Oishi graduated from the School of Sports Science at Waseda University in 2014. Seeing one of her upperclassmen from junior high school joining the rowing club in high school, Oishi was inspired to pick up rowing herself. In a pair with Tomita, she won the gold in lightweight double sculls at the 2015 Universiade. They finished 12th at the 2016 Rio Games, their first appearance at an Olympic Games.
