Waseda alumni Ayami Oishi (currently employed at Iris Ohyama Inc., 2014 graduate of the School of Sports Sciences) has secured a spot at the Asia and Oceania qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games after winning the Women’s Lightweight Double Scull final on the first day of the tournament on March 3. She rows as a pair with Chiaki Tomita (KEPCO).

If they secure Japan’s spot in the Lightweight Double Scull event at the Asia and Oceania Olympic qualifier, to be held at the Sea Forest Waterway in May, Oishi and Tomita will be going to the Tokyo 2020 Games.
