Hospitality class held at Waseda University Honjo Senior High School

A hospitality class was held at Waseda University Honjo Senior High School on Friday, August 31.

About 40 students took the class on the last day of the summer vacation.

They initially looked bewildered at questions in English. As the group work developed, however, they gradually started to look more relaxed and comfortable with one another regardless of age difference. They earnestly discussed how to welcome visitors from abroad through some case studies.

Many students applied to volunteer activities, where what they had learned can be put into practice, showing their high interest in the activities.

Recruitment of “Games volunteers” will start in the middle of this month.

Volunteers will have opportunities to meet with athletes and visitors from overseas and experience cross-cultural communication by directly getting involved in the Games.

We at the Olympic and Paralympic Project Promotion Section will work hard for the Games through various initiatives such as volunteer training in cooperation with schools attached and affiliated to Waseda University.
