Akito Watabe chosen Best Player of the Year at SAJ Snow Award 2018

An award ceremony for the SAJ Snow Award 2018 was held on Monday, May 7 by the Ski Association of Japan to recognize outstanding athletes during the 2017-2018 winter season, and Akito Watabe was chosen the Best Player of the Year. Watabe, a Waseda University ski club alumnus, graduated from the School of Sport Sciences in 2011. He is a ski club member at Kitano Construction Corp.

During the 2017-2018 season, Watabe won the individual all-around championship for the Nordic Combined World Cup for the first time. He also won a silver medal at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games as part of his winning streak.

Akito Watabe, winner of the Individual all-round championship, was chosen the Best Player of the Year at the SAJ recognition ceremony (Kyodo).
