students,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">Ongoing Request for Suspension of Extracurricular and Student Club Activities Following Further Delay of Spring Semester 2020 Start Date<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As stated in today\u2019s \u201cAnnouncement on Start Date of Spring 2020 Semester,\u201d due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19, the start date of classes has been postponed to May 11. Accordingly, we are also extending our request to students to refrain from engaging in extracurricular and student club activities until classes begin.<\/p>\n<p>Typically, graduation celebrations as well as various plans and events to welcome new students would be occurring as the old schoolyear ends and the new one begins. However, in an effort to halt the spread of the novel coronavirus, the University has had to cancel graduation and entrance ceremonies as well as student club welcome events and activities. It has also been pointed out in the Meetings of the Novel Coronavirus Headquarters that activities should be curbed in environments that have a high risk of viral transmission (places which have all three of the following conditions: 1. Enclosed spaces with poor ventilation, 2. Large crowds, 3.
