students,<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\">Notice on the preventive measures for the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) regarding the extension of the period to refrain from extracurricular activities, etc.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Waseda University has decided to postpone the starting date of classes and other educational activities until some date on or later than April 20 in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and ensure the well-being of students, parents, faculty, and staff.<\/p>\n<p>As such, we are taking the following preventive measures which will most likely affect your extracurricular activities. We ask for your understanding of the situation and please take responsible actions in protecting yourself and others around you.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>1.\u2002The suspension period for cancelling and postponing extracurricular activities announced in \u201cNotice on the preventive measures for the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) regarding welcome events organized by student circles\/clubs, including club rush\u201d on February 28 has now been extended to\u00a0<u>the day before the starting date of classes<\/u>.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u2002There will be changes made in the procedure (such as dates, etc.) to establish new and renew registration (including funding application for AY2020) for official student circles\/clubs. Please wait for further announcements, which will be made after details have been finalized.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please note that the situation we are facing is changing daily, and the university will take appropriate steps and measures according to circumstances.
