This seminar was made possible by Professor Yasuyuki Todo of Waseda University who has collaborated with the speakers since Waseda University&#8217;s Top Global University Project organized a seminar on natural disasters with the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) of the World Bank in 2017. In the seminar, Dr. St\u00e9phane Hallegatte, lead economist of the World Bank, summarized the recent report by GFDRR, titled, &#8220;Lifelines: The Resilient Infrastructure Opportunity,&#8221; and Dr. Jun Rentschler, (Economist, World Bank). and Ms. Shoko Takemoto, (Disaster Risk Management Specialist, Tokyo DRM Hub of World Bank), talked about the Bank&#8217;s project in Vietnam and the activities of Tokyo DRM Hub, respectively.
