Please come to the event venue directly<\/p>\n<h4>Outline of the seminars:<\/h4>\n<h5>Seminar 1:<\/h5>\n<p>Recent years have seen increased attention to non-cognitive outcomes of education and the impact of education on inter-personal and social as well as intra-personal attitudes, skills\/behavior\/competencies, and knowledge.\u00a0 Sustainable Development Goal 4.7 captures the social agenda: \u201call learners by 2030 [will] acquire knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture\u2019s contribution to sustainable development.\u201d Social and emotional learning (SEL) might be said to represent the intra-personal. The first in a series of three, this seminar explores common concepts and frameworks used in thinking about these issues.<\/p>\n<h5>Seminar 2:<\/h5>\n<p>The second in a series of three, this seminar examines research on the learning and teaching of attitudes, skills\/behavior\/competencies, and knowledge of the ideals in SDG 4.7.\u00a0 Learning and teaching are considered in the context of the intended and hidden curricula of formal schooling; the informal learning from family, community, peers, and media; as well as experiential learning activities.<\/p>\n<h5>Seminar 3:<\/h5>\n<p>This seminar will look at the effects of international study and academic mobility on SDG 4.\u00a0 Theories of intercultural development will be presented along with empirical research evidences on the effects of study abroad and academic mobility.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Speakers: James H.
