The Waseda University Top Global University Initiative and the Center for Positive\/Empirical Analysis of Political Economy hosted the Tokyo-Taipei-Seoul Macroeconomics Network 1st Workshop from February 1 to 2, 2024. This workshop brought together 37 participants from Taiwan, Korea, and Japan, including 10 graduate students and 5 undergraduate students.\u00a0 We’d like to share the following event report:<\/p>\n

The workshop featured a comprehensive program with a total of 14 presentations, including 2 presentations by graduate students. The topics covered a broad spectrum of macroeconomic issues, such as macroeconomic implications of the labor market, macro-finance term structure models, economic growth in relation to R&D and foreign equity investment, business cycles and inequality, borrowing and lending behavior, the behavior of gamble winners from the bank-account data, exchange rate dynamics, the relation between capital accumulation and technology adaption, and medical costs in the overlapping generation model.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
