The Global Japanese Studies Model Unit will organize a lecture \u201cCritical Approaches to \u201cJapanese-Language\u201d Literature: On the Writings of Kim S\u014fkp\u014fm\u201d by\u00a0Dr. Christina Yi\u00a0from\u00a0the\u00a0University of British Columbia. Event will be held in English.<\/p>\n

Dr. Christina Yi (Associate Professor, University of British Columbia \/ Visiting Associate Professor, Waseda University)<\/h5>\n

Christina Yi is Associate Professor of Modern Japanese Literature at the University of British Columbia. She received her Ph.D. from Columbia University. Her first monograph, Colonizing Language: Cultural Production and Language Politics in Modern Japan and Korea, was published by Columbia University Press in 2018. She was also the co-editor for a special issue on Zainichi Korean literature and film for Azalea: Journal of Korean Literature and Culture 12 (2019) and the translator for Kim S\u014fkp\u014fm\u2019s Death of a Crow (Karasu no shi, 2022).<\/p>\n
