ICPSR (Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research) is a university association for political and social research established in 1962 by the Institute of Social Research, University of Michigan, and holds the Summer Program every year.<\/p>\n<p>The ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research has a comprehensive curriculum of intensive courses in research design, statistics, data analysis, and social methodology. The program will be held hybrid\u2014both in-person and online\u2014same as 2022. The TGU subsidy will be provided to those who are willing to take in-person instructions at the University of Michigan.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>ICPSR Summer Program in 2023 Overview<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.icpsr.umich.edu\/web\/pages\/sumprog\/index.html\"><strong>https:\/\/www.icpsr.umich.edu\/web\/pages\/sumprog\/<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Course schedule<\/strong><br \/>\nSession I: June 19 \u2013 July 7, 2023<br \/>\nSession II: July 17 \u2013 August 4, 2023<br \/>\n<strong><strong>* TGU subsidy is available for 3-week courses only.<\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>TGU Subsidy for the ICPSR Summer Program in 2023<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Eligible applicants:<\/strong><br \/>\nWaseda University graduate students who are:<br \/>\n1. Willing to participate in the 2023 ICPSR Summer Program at University of Michigan (In-person)<br \/>\n2. Willing to share their knowledge \/ experience gained from the program in reports and presentations and cooperate with future public relations activities of the TGU project.<br \/>\n(After completing the program, the following documents should be submitted to the TGU Office.)<br \/>\na) A receipt \/ proof of payment issued by ICPSR<br \/>\nb) ICPSR course completion certificate<br \/>\nc) Course report<\/p>\n<p><strong>Subsidy details:<\/strong>\u00a0A round-trip airline ticket and the ICPSR program fee*<br \/>\n*Since Waseda University is a member institution of ICPSR, a membership rate of $2,600 will be applied. In addition, subsidies by <a href=\"https:\/\/jna-icpsr.jp\/sp\/subsidiary.html\">the ICPSR Japanese National Member Consortium<\/a>* will also be provided by contacting them in advance. TGU will subsidize the difference of the member fee ($2,600) and the Japanese consortium grant.<\/p>\n<p>*The above website for the ICPSR Japanese National Member Consortium is available in Japanese only<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to apply:<\/strong> Please download the application form from <a href=\"https:\/\/waseda.box.com\/s\/exesjwxtq0sx3di7k2our6z9mm2iba71\">here<\/a> and send it to the TGU Office at <a href=\"mailto:sgu-pseoffice@list.waseda.jp\">sgu-pse-office@list.waseda.jp<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application deadline:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>23:59 JST, Saturday, March 25, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Result announcement:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Friday, April 7, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u30fb Successful applicants will be required to register for the ICPSR program using their own credit cards.<br \/>\n\u30fb TGU subsidy will be paid to the participants after all required documents will be confirmed by the TGU Office. (around August-September)<br \/>\n\u30fb Students who have not taken this program in the past will be selected with priority.<br \/>\n\u30fb Students who have not received any financial support from TGU before will be given priority.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Precautions regarding in-person attendance:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u30fb Airline tickets will be arranged by the TGU Office via the travel agency designated by the university. (Individual arrangement not allowed)<br \/>\n\u30fb Accommodation and application for the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) should be arranged by students.
