On December 19th, The Positive\/Empirical Analyses of the Political Economy Unit at Waseda University<\/a> as a Top Global University Project hosted an international workshop entitled \u201cThe Effect of Home Country Bribery on Seeking Foreign Market Opportunities: The Case of Firms in Transition Economies\u201d Associate Professor Seung-Hyun Lee<\/a> from University of Texas. He is one of the leading scholars of Strategic Management and International Management.<\/p>\n

Prof. Lee reported that bribery in the home country reduces a firm’s focus on foreign markets. Also, the negative effect is strengthened for new ventures and is weakened by the competitive pressure from informal economy.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Prof. Lee\u2019s teaching seminars for Ph.D students were conducted for three days.<\/p>\n
