from utilitarianism, neoclassical sport management to the new geopolitical economy of sport&#8221;, By Dr. Chadwick of emlyon Business School, France"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/healthpromotion\/\">Waseda University\u2019s Health Promotion: The Joy of Sports and Exercise Unit<\/a> (Top Global University) invited Dr. Simon Chadwick of <a href=\"https:\/\/em-lyon.com\/en\/\">emlyon Business School<\/a>, France for an online seminar entitled \u201cSport Management \u2013 From utilitarianism and neoclassical sport management to a new geopolitical economy of sport\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before the lecture, <a href=\"https:\/\/w-rdb.waseda.jp\/html\/100001973_en.html\">Associate Professor Donna Wong<\/a> (Faculty of Sport Sciences, Waseda University) introduced Dr. Chadwick\u2019s career and research.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14565\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/sgu\/assets\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Drchadwick01.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"309\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The lecture saw participants of not only students and faculty of Waseda University, but also by a large number of participants abroad, especially from Europe, totaling approximately 100 participants.<br \/>\nIn his lecture, Dr Chadwick spoke for nearly one and a half hours about the economic and political uses of sport and the geopoliticisation of sport, using specific examples from his research.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14566\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/sgu\/assets\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Drchadwick02.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During the Q&amp;A session that followed, each question was answered in detail, and the two-hour lecture provided a great deal of insight into global trends in the sports business.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14567\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/sgu\/assets\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Drchadwick03.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"268\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The lecture can be viewed below:<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"[Recorded]Online Seminar: Prof. Simon Chadwick on Sport Management\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZZhkR8XC88o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
