The book\u00a0\u201cCarbon Pricing in Japan<\/b>\u201d<\/a>, edited and compiled by Prof. Toshihide Arimura<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(member of the Center for Empirical Political Economy) and Mr. Shigeru Matsumoto,\u00a0received the Commentary Award<\/strong> from the\u00a0Society for Environmental Economics and Policy Studies<\/b><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Arimura is a professor of Political Science and Economics and Director of the Research Institute for Environment Economics and Management<\/a> at Waseda University. His research interests include climate change, energy policies, air pollution regulations and voluntary environmental action.<\/p>\n

He has served on a number of Japanese government committees on environmental issues and on the editorial boards of academic journals, such as Review of Environmental Economics and Policy and Environmental Economics and Policy Studies. In 2018, he was awarded the SEEPS Outstanding Publication Award from the Society for Environmental Economics and Policy Studies (Japanese Association of Environmental Economics and Policy).<\/p>\n
