{"id":3164,"date":"2018-06-26T19:23:43","date_gmt":"2018-06-26T10:23:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/rlc\/?p=3164"},"modified":"2018-06-26T19:23:43","modified_gmt":"2018-06-26T10:23:43","slug":"%e3%80%90for-incoming-students-in-september-2018%e3%80%91supplemental-supports-of-rent-guarantee-fees-for-international-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/rlc\/news-en\/2018\/06\/26\/3164\/","title":{"rendered":"\u3010For Incoming Students in September 2018\u3011Supplemental Supports of Rent Guarantee Fees for International Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To promote further innovation \u2013 The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/sgu\/en\/\">\u201cWaseda Goes Global\u201d<\/a> Plan under the mid and long-term management \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/keiei\/vision150\/pdf\/vision150_en.pdf\">Waseda Vision 150<\/a>\u201d, the Residence Life Center of Waseda University will carry out support equivalent to <strong>rent guarantee fees*<\/strong> (up to 20,000 yen) for international students, who enroll in Waseda University through September 2018 admission.<\/p>\n<p><strong>*Rent Guarantee Fees<\/strong><br \/>\nThere are so many cases that require finding a joint guarantor to complete rental agreement when an international student moves in to a rental accommodation in Japan. However, it is difficult to find a guarantor soon after students come to Japan. Therefore, in order to complete the rental agreement, majority of international students make sure of rent guarantee system. The amount of annual guarantee fee is 30 percent of the monthly rent, which is generally required to pay fees for amount of 2 years at the time of completing the rental agreement.<\/p>\n<h4>Number of Students Supported<\/h4>\n<p>30 students at the maximum<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">*Note: Students who want to reside in the Waseda University Student Dormitories or the Waseda University Affiliated Dormitories are not eligible to apply for this support.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Eligibility Requirements<\/h4>\n<p>Applicants must fulfill the following qualifications:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Must be an international student of Waseda University, who will start enrollment in September, 2018<\/li>\n<li>Must be a student who wishes to move in to the accommodation which is under specific conditions, operates by our related company Waseda University Property Management Corp.,<\/li>\n<li>Must be a student who belongs to either of the following categories:<br \/>\nA. A student who needs financial aid (who wish to move in to underpriced accommodation), or<br \/>\nB. A student who wishes to actively interact with Japanese (who wish to move in to the accommodation such as a shared house).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Procedures<\/h4>\n<p>(1)\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Students who wish to receive this support must apply through the Residence Life Center<br \/>\n(2)\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0The Residence Life Center will screen students to determine those eligible to receive the support, and issue the certificate (Notice of Allowance).<br \/>\n(3)\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Students requests<a href=\"http:\/\/waseda-housing.com\/fp-9907\/\"> Student Housing Center<\/a> operated by our related company Waseda University Property Management Corp. to find your appropriate accommodation. At the time, you have to tell the Student Housing Center that you have the Notice of Allowance.<br \/>\n(4)\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Students complete the contract procedures through Student Housing Center.<br \/>\n(5)\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Students apply for this subsidy to the Residence Life Center after entering the University.<br \/>\n(6)\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Equivalent of rent guarantee fees (up to 20,000 yen, actual cost) will be paid into student\u2019s own bank account.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\uff1cProcedures\uff1e<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2569\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/rlc\/assets\/uploads\/2017\/06\/flow-1.png\" alt=\"flow\" width=\"570\" height=\"195\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Method of Application<\/h4>\n<p>Please fill in all the necessary information on the Web application form.
