On February 9, we went to Yokohama Chinatown and participated in a factory tour at Sumitomo Electric.<\/p>\n

\"kojokengaku_sumitomodenko_3\"<\/a>We left WISH at 9:00 and all 20 of us boarded a bus and headed to Yokohama. In Yokohama Chinatown, we walked around freely until lunch. We took pictures together and we also ate some dumplings, and enjoyed our free time. For lunch, we went to a restaurant called \u201cShofukumon\u201d and tasted some authentic Chinese food.<\/p>\n

\"kojokengaku_sumitomodenko_2\"<\/a>After lunch, we went to Sumitomo Electric\u2019s Yokohama factory. This company works in info communication, energy, electric wires and cables, supporting our everyday lives in various areas. The Yokohama factory is one of the bigger factories at Sumitomo Electric, and is mainly focused on producing info communication products such as fiber optic cables, optical connections, and electrical components. After a presentation about the company itself, we toured the factory, looking at redox flow batteries, concentrator photovoltaic units, and fiber optic cable production. There were many difficult words that I couldn\u2019t pick up, but I still enjoyed being able to closely examine something that I wouldn\u2019t come across in my everyday life. In addition, being able to see inside of a large corporation was beneficial, especially leading up to job hunting in a few years.<\/p>\n
