[IMPORTANT NOTICE]
For the applicants who apply for WID/Dormy AS A FIRST CHOICE in application period 3 or 4, we have changed the allocation rules. On the brochure “Waseda University Student Dormitories 2019”, we announced that the rooms in all WID/Dormy will be allotted on a first come, first served basis. However, after the change, lots will be drawn to assign students to the dormitories of their choice after the application deadline, except WID Waseda in period 4. (Only in period 4 – WID Waseda rooms will be allotted on a first come, first served basis, with a quota for each faculty.)

  • In case you cannot locate the “Online Request Form”, please reload to refresh the site. To reload, press the “Ctrl” key and the “F5” key simultaneously. Thank you.

Application Process

  1. Please check the following URL for the application process, schedule and necessary documents.

  2. Please send Online Request Form.
  3. After you submit the Online Request Form, you will get a Registration Number(Registration Number will be automatically sent via e-mail).
  4. Afterwards, please proceed the application process mentioned on 1.

*Web page of Online Request Form will be expired after a certain period of time. If you write essays, we recommend you to save your essay using MS Word or notepad temporarily.

The schedule of April application 2019 for student dormitories is as below:

【Period 1】 Tuesday, September 25 10:00 am – Friday, October 26 16:00 pm (JST)

* Applicants admitted to the University by the end of October

【Period 2】Friday, November 16 10:00 am – Tuesday, January 8, 2019 16:00 pm (JST)

*Applicants admitted through the Designated School Recommendation Entrance Exam

【Period 3】Friday, January 11 10:00 am – Friday, January 25 16:00 pm (JST)

*Applicants admitted to the University from November onward (excluding the Designated School Recommendation Entrance Exam)

【Period 4】Monday, February 18 10:00 am – Monday, march 4 10:00 am (JST)

*Applicants admitted through the General Entrance Exam or the National Center Test for University
Admissions, and applicants admitted through any of the above exams who want to apply to Higashi-

We recommend preparing the followings before you apply.

  • Amount of Total Gross Income (yearly) by the earners of your household
  • Please describe what you accomplished as a member of a group or a team in school activity, social activity, field work, sports activity..etc.. and what was your role as the member in that group or team?(Limit: 250 words)
    *If you are applying to Undergraduate program, please answer the above question with your high school experience. If you are applying to graduate school, please answer above question with your undergraduate experience.
  • Please describe what kind of person you would like to be after you graduate from the university. (Limit: 250 words)

The following question is ONLY for the applicants of WISH

  • Please describe your willingness to participate in SI programs. Please refer to the brochure, “Waseda University Student Dormitories” or website.(Limit: 250 words)

Necessary Documents for the Application of Waseda University Student Dormitories (WISH, Higashi-Fushimi Student Dormitory and Ichishima Kinen Sendagi Student Dormitory)

・Photo(necessary for all applicants who applied for dormitories operated by Waseda University required when applied)

Please submit your photo(Photo must be taken in the past half year with upper body, full face, and no hats).

Choice 2: Send your photo by the deadline after you submit the Online Request Form.

*the photo size should be 4cm×3cm, and write your name on the back.

Dormitory Entrance Documents

・ The latest income certificate of the parents or of the income earner (for Successful Applicants of the dormitories operated by Waseda University only)

For Successful Applicants of the dormitories operated by Waseda University (WISH (Waseda International Student House), Higashi-Fushimi, and Ichishima Kinen Sendagi), it will be required to return the entrance documents sent by the university. With the entrance documents, the successful applicants will be required to submit the tax withholding statement or  the latest income certificate of the parents or of the income earner issued by municipality or the companies that the earners belong (copy is acceptable). Please be informed that it takes several days to prepare the latest income certificate. In addition, if the amount of income typed on the Online Request Form differs from the income certificate, we could cancel your entrance to the dormitory.

When there are unavoidable circumstances, we will accept the following documents substituting for the income certificate.

  • A) Certificate of the bank balance for your parents or income earner (copy is acceptable)+ Income Declaration (please use the designated form below) Please download the designated form for the Income Declaration from here (Word)(PDF)
  • B) Certificate of Scholarship Receipt (copy is acceptable) *Only when you plan to pay your Dorm Fees by scholarship.
  • If your household has no income, please submit Tax-Free Certificate instead of income certificate. Also, please submit either the above document A or B.
  • On the Online Request Form, please put the “Amount of Total Gross Income” not “The income (after tax deducted)”.
  • If your parents are both income earners (dual income), please put the combined amount of income, and submit each income certificate with the entrance documents.

If the documents are written in any other languages besides Japanese and English, please attach Japanese or English translation. (free format. Translation by your own is also acceptable.) Also if the currency is not Japanese yen, please convert to Japanese yen and write down the amount.

  • Your income certificates must be arrived by the following deadlines. You may
    enclose the income certificate with the entrance documents and return them
    together.

Residence Life Center is a department that plan management policies for student dormitories (dormitories for regular students of International students and Japanese students), and provide services for students regarding dormitories.
