The FeCl<sub>3<\/sub>-vapor treatment combined with vacuum heating at 1000\u00a0\u00b0C efficiently removed various catalysts (Fe, Ni, Y, Mg, and Al) from single-wall and multi-wall CNTs. Even if vapors of\u00a0<a class=\"topic-link\" title=\"Learn more about metal chlorides from ScienceDirect's AI-generated Topic Pages\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/topics\/engineering\/metal-chloride\">metal chlorides<\/a>\u00a0leak, they show low vapor pressure at ambient temperature and turn solid, significantly reducing the hazard.
