While various physical systems are used to build quantum computers, they are currently limited to around 10-100 quantum bits, and face difficulties increasing this number to more than a thousand with current technologies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Takao Aoki, Department of Applied Physics, School of Advanced Science and Engineering, Waseda University, and his group have been developing their unique technology, \u201cnanofiber cavity QED\u201d, which holds great promise for outstanding scalability against other platforms to realize a large-scale quantum computer. Prof. Aoki has recently founded the company \u201cNanofiber Quantum Technologies, Inc.
