▮18:10-18:40 Presentation 1: “US-China Strategic Competition in Central Asia”
Dr. Tatia Chikhladze (Associate Professor, British University in Georgia)
Dr Tatia Chikhladze is an Associate Professor at the British University of Georgia. Her research interests include comparative politics, authoritarian resilience, political regimes and transition of post-Soviet states.
She holds a PhD in Politics from the University of Bremen, Germany. Also, she received MA degree in Russian and East European Studies at the University of Oxford. She has published her pieces at Caucasus Analytical Digest, Zentralasien-Analysen and Caucasus Survey.
▮18:40-19:10 Presentations 2: “US-China confrontation, Russia, and a test for the EU’s unity”
Dr. Nikoloz Tokhvadze (Adviser at the European Parliament)
Dr. Nikoloz Tokhvadze is a researcher working on topics of the EU’s foreign policies, particularly towards the Eastern Partnership countries. Currently, he is working at the European Parliament – advising on different foreign policy areas, in particular on Eastern Europe, democracy support abroad, and combating malign interference of foreign actors. Dr Tokhvadze has worked at the German Parliament, Embassy of Japan, and others in various capacity.
He has received Doctoral degree from the Berlin Free University, and has conducted research at Stanford University and Cornell University.
▮19:10-19:40 Presentations 3: “Eastern Europe at the crossroad of US-China geopolitics”
Dr. Roxana Andrei (affiliated with EU’s European Defence Agency)
Roxana Andrei is an International Affairs and Security expert, working in the field of international security, energy policy, conflict resolution and peacemaking. Since 2019, she has been collaborating with the EU’s European Defence Agency in the framework of the long-term project “Consultation Forum For Sustainable Energy in the Defence And Security Sector”. She has worked for the European Court of Human Rights of the Council of Europe, for the EU’s European Centre for the Development of Vocational Education and Training (CEDEFOP) and others.
She obtained her Ph.D. in International Politics and Conflict Resolution at the University of Coimbra in Portugal, on which occasion was granted a researcher-in-residence fellowship at the OSCE’s Documentation Centre in Prague.
