For this Outreach we&#8217;ll be taking a Field Trip to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.waseda-setsuryo.ed.jp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Waseda Setsuryo Junior &amp; Senior High School<\/a> in OSAKA!<br \/>\nThe program finishes in Osaka and since its summer break you are free to go sightseeing in Kyoto or Osaka!<\/p>\n<p>The ICC Outreach Program pairs Japanese and international students to work together to create a lesson plan for a class meant to promote cross-cultural understanding.<br \/>\nThe lessons are given at local Japanese elementary, junior, and senior high schools.<br \/>\nICC staff will explain in detail about how to create lesson plans at the orientation, and you will be preparing for it together with your partner.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking forward to receiving your application!<\/p>\n<h6>Outreach Program Introduction Video<\/h6>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"ICC Outreach Program Video\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UwWr4CpxtYg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h5>Date<\/h5>\n<p>September 13 (Fri) to 14 (Sat), 2019 &lt;1 night, 2 days&gt;<\/p>\n<h5>Class<\/h5>\n<p>2nd grade high school &amp; 3rd grade junior high students, between 20-30 students per class.<\/p>\n<h5>Content &amp; Program<\/h5>\n<h6>Content<\/h6>\n<p>Introduce your country and culture (50min + 10 min. break + 50 min.)<br \/>\n(Create and practice a lesson plan together with your partner, then carry it out at the school)<\/p>\n<h6>Program<\/h6>\n<p>Sep 13 (Fri) Afternoon: Depart Tokyo. Stay in dorm.<br \/>\nSep 14 (Sat) Morning: Visit school, teach class. Afternoon: Finish in Osaka.<\/p>\n<h5>Eligibility<\/h5>\n<p>Waseda Students who can attend the meetings &amp; school visit.<\/p>\n<h5>Spaces<\/h5>\n<p>18 students (9 local &amp; 9 international students)<\/p>\n<h5>Registration<\/h5>\n<p>Register online using <a href=\"https:\/\/my.waseda.jp\/application\/detail\/application-detail?communityContentLinkId=263435120\">MyWaseda<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h5>Deadline<\/h5>\n<p>Aug 23 (Fri), 9:00am (Results are sent by email on the same day, please check your inbox)<\/p>\n<h5>Schedule<\/h5>\n<p>Orientation 1: Aug 28 (Wed) 10:00-11:00am<br \/>\nOrientation 2: Aug 29 (Thu) 1:00-2:00pm<br \/>\nOrientation 3: Aug 30 (Fri) 4:00-5:00pm<br \/>\nMeeting: Between Sep 2 (Mon) &#8211; 6 (Fri)<\/p>\n<p>*Participation is required at one of the orientations and the lesson planning meeting.<br \/>\nHowever, since this program takes place during the summer break, please discuss with the ICC staff when you can come in for the meeting at the ICC Lounge.<\/p>\n<p>* In addition to the above meeting, it is necessary to meet several times with your partner in order to plan, prepare, and practice the lesson.<br \/>\n* Although this is a volunteer program, you will be a teacher of an actual class, and so dropping out of the program or being late is not acceptable. Participants are expected to be present and on time for all meetings to ensure the program runs smoothly.<\/p>\n<h5>Cost<\/h5>\n<p><strong>The school will provide a one-way Shinkansen ticket to Osaka from Tokyo Station, 1 night&#8217;s accommodation at student dorm and dinner on Sep 13, and breakfast and lunch on Sep 14<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Transportation costs and arrangements back to Tokyo are entirely the responsibility of the participant.
