Japanese Manga has become an object of fascination around the world these days.
\nWith its relatable stories and interesting characters with unique fashions,
\nmanga is enjoyed by people of different cultures and customs across the world.<\/p>\n

There is a wealth of incredibly popular manga out there, with titles like;
\n“Dragonball,” “One Piece,” “Naruto,” “Attack on Titan,” “Bleach,” “Death Note,” and “Fullmetal Alchemist”.
\nDid you ever try to draw your favourite character when you were a child?<\/p>\n

Now, the ICC has invited the manga author and illustrator Nao Yazawa whose work has been published in magazines like “CoroCoro Comic”, to give a lecture and manga workshop in English!
\nShe will talk about the differences between Japanese comics and those in the rest of the world, and also what it is like being a manga illustrator as a full time job.
\nIn the workshop, after completing your illustration in pencil you can also try out inking and adding tone to your artwork too!<\/p>\n

If you have an interest in Japanese pop culture, if you want to know more about the life of a manga illustrator, if you want to try your hand at drawing a manga character, beginners are of course more than welcome.

Guest Profile<\/h5>\n

Nao Yazawa
\nMade her debut writing for “CoroCoro Comic” , then moved to “Pyon Pyon” maagazine where she made the transition from boys’ to girls’ manga genres.
\nHer most famous work is “Wedding Peach” which ran in “Ciao” magazine.
\nShe now writes for overseas readers as well and also works as a guest lecturer at various manga creation workshops. She currently teaches manga creation classes in English at a manga school in Nakano.<\/p>\n
