Come join the ICC Japanese Culture Week! We’ve got a variety of fun and interesting events to let you experience Japanese culture while meeting new friends on campus.<\/p>\n

All events are free of charge and you can register easily online via MyWaseda. Come immerse yourself in Japanese culture!<\/p>\n

Tsugaru-jamisen & Wadaiko Performance -Performances That Inspire: Feel The Spirit of Japanese Traditional Music-<\/h2>\n

The Tsugaru-jamisen lovers circle “Mitsudomoe” and the Wadaiko circle “Sakigake Hibiki” present their extremely popular performances of Tsugaru-jamisen and Wadaiko drumming.<\/p>\n

Come and feel the power of the traditional Japanese instruments!<\/p>\n

Ikebana Workshop -Try your hand at the Japanese art of flower arrangement-<\/h2>\n

Poster<\/a><\/p>\n

Ikebana is the traditional Japanese art of arranging flowers for display. For this Ikebana event, a teacher from the Ikebana school – Sogetsu School – will give an Ikebana demonstration followed by an Ikebana workshop, where you can try making your own display.<\/p>\n

After the workshop, you’ll be able to take the flowers with you as souvenirs that you can enjoy in your home! This is a great chance to see up close the skill of a professional Ikebana teacher and receive instruction from her directly.<\/p>\n

Traditional Japanese Dance & Yukata Wearing\u3000- Join a dance workshop & try on a yukata! –<\/h2>\n

Receive basic instruction in traditional Japanese dance from the famous performer and teacher: Ms. Kaari Koide from the Koide School of dance in this one-time special workshop. You can also try wearing a traditional yukata with members from the Waseda Wakamono-kimono-kai.<\/p>\n

\u203bYou’ll wear the Yukata over your own clothes so please wear something light.<\/p>\n
