5 years have passed since the great earthquake in northern Japan, but even now there are ongoing projects supporting those in the disaster areas.
\nThe Tohoku Live House Project is one of these projects.<\/p>\n

In the towns of Miyako and Ofunato in Iwate Prefecture and Ishinomaki in Miyagi Prefecture, just about everything was washed away by the giant tsunami.
\nWhere there was once a train station now lies tracks buried in earth.
\nIn a place where there used to be nothing, volunteers have built a Live House to bring people together through music.
\nThis documentary movie is about their story.<\/p>\n

As our memories of the disaster fade, there are still many people living in temporary housing and the Live House is trying to support them.
\nAs well as fund-raising activities and financial support, big artists are holding charity events to raise the spirits of those living the affected areas.<\/p>\n

ICC will be showing this movie with English subtitles, so that more people can learn about the situation in the disaster areas, including foreign students.<\/p>\n

As well as the movie, there will also be a talk by the director and local staff who will speak about the project\u2019s current and future activities in more detail.<\/p>\n

After the talk, there will be live performances from artists including:
\nTOSHI-LOW from the rock band BRAHMAN, Kazuyuki Kuhara from The Birthday and rock singer Yoko Utsumi. Don’t miss this amazing event!<\/p>\n
