Ha Long Bay – The UNESCO World Heritage Site, the elegant national\u00a0costume known as the Ao Dai, the infamous Vietnam War and of course\u00a0tasty Pho noodles with lots of coriander. These are all things that\u00a0come to mind when we think about Vietnam. However more recently it\u00a0has become known as one of the fastest growing economies in Southeast\u00a0Asia and has received large-scale infrastructural investment from\u00a0developed nations such as Japan.<\/p>\n
Even though awareness about Vietnam has been growing in recent years,\u00a0many people still do not know much about the country’s modern culture\u00a0as well as each individual region’s distinct traditions. In the ICC\u00a0Vietnam Festival we hope you’ll get to know more about multicultural\u00a0Vietnam where more than 50 ethnic groups live together!<\/p>\n
On the day of the event there’ll be an opening speech from a\u00a0distinguished Vietnamese minister working at the embassy and a\u00a0presentation and quiz by Waseda’s own Vietnamese students.
\nAfterwards we’ll have songs, and even a Vovinam\u00a0(Vietnamese Martial Art) Demonstration! Finally during the cafe\u00a0exchange time you can relax and try some local snacks and coffee.<\/p>\n
