The lessons are then given at local Japanese\u00a0elementary, junior, and senior high schools to help foster intercultural\u00a0understanding among school students.<br \/>\nDetails of the program will be explained by the ICC at an orientation.\u00a0Afterward, you and your partner will meet and work together to prepare\u00a0the lesson plan until the day of the school visit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kuQJRqcbzr0&amp;feature=youtu.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Outreach Program Introduction Video<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Place<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Wasedajitsugyo Elementary School (Kokubunji city, Tokyo)<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Date &amp; Time<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Feb. 24 (Tue) 9:50am &#8211; 3:30pm (lunch included)<br \/>\n*Meeting time and place: 9:50am, Kokubunji Station(If coming from Shinjuku station, it is necessary to depart\u00a0by 9:22am)<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Class<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>3rd &amp; 4th grade elementary students<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Content<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Introduce your country and culture (90min. 2 times)<br \/>\n(Create and practice a lesson plan together with your partner, then carry it out at the school)<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Waseda Students who are able to participate in all the\u00a0meetings and the actual school visit and perform required duties.<br \/>\n*You are eligible to apply as long as you can communicate in\u00a0either English or Japanese.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Places available<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>3 Japanese students, 3 international students<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Registration Process<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Register online from Waseda-net Portal<br \/>\n&#8220;Waseda-net Portal&#8221;\u3000\u2192\u3000&#8221;System Services&#8221;\u3000\u2192\u3000&#8221;Applications&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0\u2192\u300cICC\u30a2\u30a6\u30c8\u30ea\u30fc\u30c12\u6708\u30fb ICC Outreach February\u300d<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Registration Deadline<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Jan. 28 (Wed), 9:00am<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Result Announcement<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Jan. 28 (Wed)<br \/>\n*Be sure to check your email throughout the day\u00a0on this date if you apply.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Schedule<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Feb. 02 (Mon) 12:20-12:50pm Orientation @ICC<\/li>\n<li>Feb. 13 (Fri) 12:20-12:50pm Lesson plan review MTG @ICC<\/li>\n<li>Feb. 20 (Fri) 12:20-12:50pm Final MTG @ICC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*Participation is required at all meetings.<\/p>\n<p>*In addition to the above meetings, it is necessary to meet several times<br \/>\nwith your assigned partner in order to plan, prepare, and practice the lesson.<\/p>\n<p>*Transportation expenses and lesson plan materials (paper, color copies, etc.)<br \/>\nwill be provided by the ICC.<\/p>\n<p>*Participants will be decided after reviewing their reasons for applying,<br \/>\nand also according to the details\/requests from the host schools.<\/p>\n<h4>Note<\/h4>\n<p>Although this is a volunteer program, participants will be teaching\u00a0a class at a scheduled time and school, and so dropping out of the\u00a0program or being late is not acceptable.
