Growing up as a second-generation Chinese immigrant in Luxembourg and studying in the UK for the past ten years have made me deeply aware of the importance of understanding and navigating multicultural identities. This is especially important in a world <\/span>that is<\/span> becoming increasingly politically<\/span> polari<\/span>s<\/span>e<\/span>d<\/span>.<\/span> After<\/span> participatin<\/span>g<\/span> in several ICC events, I was drawn to the way ICC brings together students from all backgrounds and creates a space where everyone feels seen and heard. For me, becoming an SSL means contributing to this environment, helping <\/span>my <\/span>fellow students connect, and building friendships that foster a more <\/span>inclusive world<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I only joined the team this June, but <\/span>it\u2019s<\/span> already been an incredibly rewarding experience. Our SSL team is filled with people from all <\/span>walks of life<\/span>, making it a vibrant cultural hub where different perspectives are welcomed and <\/span>celebrated. <\/span>I\u2019ve<\/span> felt so inspired by the creativity and passion of my teammates, and <\/span>I\u2019ve<\/span> already gained skills that I know will help me <\/span>in the future, beyond educational institutions<\/span>. These few weeks have shown me how much potential we have, as students, to raise cultural awareness <\/span>to a larger audience<\/span>. And of course\u2014the <\/span>best part <\/span>is always <\/span>to see <\/span>participants enjoy themselves and attend our events with a smile!<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u263b<\/p>\n

In today\u2019s world, it\u2019s not just about recognising our differences, it\u2019s also about finding what connects us beyond them. ICC\u2019s mission to create a space where all voices are heard is something I deeply resonate with. I believe intercultural communication is not only a tool but also a powerful first step towards mutual understanding and social change.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
