Have you ever seen a traditional Japanese performing art show?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are many traditional Japanese performing arts in Japan, such as Wadaiko (Japanese taiko drums), shamisen, yosakoi, Noh, etc, but it may be rare to have a chance to experience them live.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This time, we will invite Waseda University’s yosakoi circle “Tokyo Hanabi” and wadaiko circle “Sakigake Hibiki” to put on a show on campus!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why don’t you take this opportunity to watch a stunning performance of wadaiko and dance?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What’s more, some of the participants will be able to try wadaiko too.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tokyo Hanabi performs a spectacular yosakoi, a traditional dance that originated in Kochi, and Sakigake Hibiki impresses with its powerful drums, music and call and response yells. Don’t miss their stunning performances!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Waseda University’s yosakoi circle “Tokyo Hanabi”<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Kochi-style <\/span>yosakoi<\/span><\/i> dance team with about 150 student members in total. There are both male and female dances, and the power and elegance of the performance is one of its charms. We also use <\/span>matoi<\/span><\/i> banners in our performances, which is rare for a student <\/span>yosakoi<\/span><\/i> team.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Japanese drum circle with about 45 members. The cool appearance of the <\/span>wadaiko<\/span><\/i> drum, the powerful sound, and the expressions and shouts of the members are the features of our performances! We hope you’ll enjoy our lively and energetic performances!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
