I’ve been interested in intercultural exchange since I was young, but I didn\u2019t have many opportunities to pursue it. That’s why I was so drawn to Waseda’s diversity, and moving from Nara to Tokyo, the ICC events were exactly what I was looking for. It was also through ICC that I had my first experience of speaking Korean with native speakers and making friends using the language, as I had previously only done self-study! I decided to apply because I wanted to be part of ICC and share this experience with others who are in a similar situation as I was.<\/p>\n

\u4f55\u3088\u308a\u3082\u3001\u53c2\u52a0\u8005\u306e\u65b9\u304c\u4ea4\u6d41\u3057\u3066\u3044\u308b\u59ff\u3092\u9593\u8fd1\u3067\u898b\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3067\u3059\uff01\u307e\u305f\u3001\u53c2\u52a0\u8005\u306e\u65b9\u3082SSL\u306e\u5148\u8f29\u65b9\u3082\u30d0\u30c3\u30af\u30b0\u30e9\u30a6\u30f3\u30c9\u3084\u7d4c\u9a13\u304c\u8c4a\u5bcc\u306a\u306e\u3067\u3001\u65b0\u305f\u306a\u8996\u70b9\u3092\u5b66\u3073\u7d9a\u3051\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u307e\u3059\u3002SSL\u3068\u3044\u3046\u7acb\u5834\u306b\u306a\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3067\u3001\u53c2\u52a0\u8005\u306e\u6642\u306b\u306f\u6c17\u3065\u304b\u306a\u304b\u3063\u305f\u3001\u7d30\u304b\u306a\u90e8\u5206\u3078\u306e\u914d\u616e\u3084\u30a4\u30d9\u30f3\u30c8\u306e\u4ed5\u7d44\u307f\u3092\u6bce\u65e5\u5438\u53ce\u3067\u304d\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\uff01<\/p>\n

What I find most rewarding is being able to watch the participants interact up close. Also, both the participants and senior SSLs have such rich backgrounds and experiences, so I\u2019m constantly learning new perspectives. Being in the SSL position has allowed me to notice things I didn\u2019t before as a participant, like the little details and the structure behind the events\u2014something I absorb and appreciate every day!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s definitely a challenging topic, and I\u2019m still learning a lot. However, in a world where information spreads quickly on social media, along with the rise of prejudice, I truly believe that meeting and talking to people face to face is the first step toward intercultural communication.<\/p>\n
