As a new international student starting my journey at Waseda University, I was eager to make new friends, so I had been searching for activities that I could participate in. Fortunately, Waseda Intercultural Communication Center (ICC) organized an event called \u201cWelcome Cafe\u201d, to welcome new students to the campus. Even though it says for new students, all grades are welcome too.<\/p>\n

I decided to come to the event on two different dates (the event had a lot of date selections), hoping that I would meet students with diverse backgrounds at Waseda University. It\u2019s a bit unfortunate that I couldn\u2019t attend on April 1st and 2nd to see the special DJ performance though.<\/p>\n

I went to the event, and it fulfilled my expectations. Upon arrival, I was assigned to a table in the ICC lounge, where I had the opportunity to meet new students. There, I met many students from different countries around the world, such as Japan, China, France, the USA, the UK, etc.<\/p>\n

At the event, we got to talk about various topics, including our reasons for coming to Japan, our respective majors, our favorite restaurants around Waseda, several interesting things about Japan, and so much more! Not only that, we also got to choose drinks provided by ICC that we preferred, so that we could take our time relaxing while chatting with each other. Lastly, we also exchanged SNS before the event ended to keep in touch with each other.<\/p>\n

If you are starting your journey at Waseda University and want to meet students with diverse backgrounds at Waseda to make new friends, then I would recommend that you come to this event!<\/p>\n
