ICC Japanese Culture Event (2024\/6)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/icc\/assets\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Poster.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Poster<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Have you ever seen a traditional Japanese performing art show?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">There are many traditional Japanese performing arts in Japan, such as <em>wadaiko <\/em>(Japanese <em>taiko<\/em> drums), <em>shamisen<\/em>, <em>yosakoi<\/em>, <em>noh<\/em>, etc, but it may be rare to have a chance to experience them live.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This time, we have invited Waseda University&#8217;s yosakoi circle <strong>Tokyo Hanabi<\/strong> and wadaiko circle <strong>Sakigake Hibiki<\/strong>\u00a0for a show on campus!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Why don&#8217;t you take this opportunity to watch a stunning performance of wadaiko and dance?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What&#8217;s more, some of the participants will be able to try the drums too!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Tokyo Hanabi performs a spectacular yosakoi, a traditional dance that originated in Kochi, and Sakigake Hibiki impresses with its powerful drums, music and call and response yells. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Don&#8217;t miss it!<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Performers<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Waseda University wadaiko circle <em>Sakigake Hibiki<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>&#8220;<\/strong><em>A Japanese drum circle with about 40 members. The cool appearance of the <\/em><\/span><em>wadaiko<\/em><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><em> drum, the powerful sound, and the expressions and shouts of the members are the features of our performances! There are both male and female dances, and the power and elegance of the performance are part of its appeal.
