On Saturday, April 23rd, I had the chance to participate in the Bamboo Shoot Hunt event organized by ICC.<\/p>\n

The bamboo shoot hunt took place at the Tokorozawa campus, located about 30km northwest of Tokyo. The place is located in the middle of nature, so I was able to discover a new side of Waseda University.<\/p>\n

First, I was impressed by the size of the bamboo. The staff explained and showed us in detail how to dig up a bamboo shoot, and then, armed with a pickaxe, it was our turn to try. It was harder and more physical than it looked! But with the help of the staff, I was able to dig up two bamboo shoots. It was the first time I tried this kind of experience. I felt like I was in the Animal Crossing game! We were even able to bring the bamboo shoots home to cook them.<\/p>\n

After the bamboo hunt, we went to a classroom to play games and chat together. I was able to make new friends. Then some of us went to the Totoro\u2019s Forest, a place related to the Ghibli movie. It was very pleasant to walk in the forest in such beautiful weather.<\/p>\n

It was my first time attending an ICC event, and it hadn’t even been two weeks since I arrived in Japan. I’m really glad I went! I highly recommend that you attend ICC events. They allow you to discover new experiences, make friends and enjoy cultural exchange.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
