In art, the artist extracts these concepts and formulates them into an artistic motif that can often be difficult for people to understand, interpret or explain.<br \/>\nDue to the nature of abstract art, the depiction of the subject can be vastly different depending on the artist as his values and way of thinking are reflected within the piece they create.<\/p>\n<p>Now at the ICC, we want to give you the tools to find the joy in expressing yourself and enjoy the new sensation with an online trial workshop!<br \/>\nWe have invited the abstract artist and organizer of numerous exhibitions and workshops, Beatrix Fife to be our guest teacher.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of the workshop is &#8220;Air&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re sure that the works created will be incredibly different for each person.<br \/>\nThis workshop will be conducted live by using Zoom, and you can enjoy interacting with your fellow artists in English as you sketch together.<\/p>\n<p>Showing your own feelings and impressions. This is a great chance to share your ideas with others and find out more about yourself and each other.<br \/>\nPeople who aren&#8217;t too familiar with art are very welcome! Summary and Exchange Time<\/p>\n<p>\u203bSketches will be done with a pencil on paper.<\/p>\n<h5>Lecturer Profile<\/h5>\n<p><strong>Ms. Beatrix Fife<\/strong><br \/>\nPart-time lecturer at the School of International Liberal Studies, Waseda University. Born in Stockholm, she grew up in Rome and in Paris. After finishing her university and art studies in Oslo, she worked as a directing assistant (stage design, drama writing) at the New Dramatists in New York, then continued studying visual arts at the Art academy in Budapest. She came to Japan after winning a painting contest in Austria. In Kyoto, she attended the \u201cSho International\u201d presided by Calligrapher Shingai Tanaka. There she exhibited and performed music and art performance for 9 years. In 1999, she moved to Belgium where, while working with dance performance and painting, she studied jazz piano and flute at the Brussels Music academy, as well as Linguistics (Science of Language) in Besan\u00e7on, France. She received a Master Degree in Science of Language (psycholinguistics) at the University of Franche-Comt\u00e9, France, and opened the BLA language school in Brussels . She moved to Tokyo in 2010.
