I like kids!<span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If any of\u00a0<span data-contrast=\"auto\">these sound<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0like you, then the ICC Outreach program is for you!<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The ICC Outreach Program pairs Japanese and international students to work together to create a lesson plan for a class meant to promote cross-cultural understanding. The lessons are then given at local Japanese elementary, junior, and senior high schools to help foster intercultural understanding among school students.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Details of the program will be explained by the ICC at an orientation.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Afterward, you and your partner will work together online to prepare the lesson plan until the day of the school visit.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">*There is a possibility that this program may be cancelled due to the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). So please make sure you finish making your PPT file by this date.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Transportation fee<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Transportation expenses and lesson plan materials (paper, color copies, etc) will be provided by the ICC.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Selection<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Participants will be decided after considering your reasons for applying, and also according to the details\/requests from the host school.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Participant responsibility<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Although this is a volunteer program, participants will be teaching a class at a scheduled time and school, and so dropping out of the program or being late is not acceptable.<\/p>\n<h4>Participant Experiences<\/h4>\n<p class=\"alt-title-head global-color\"><span class=\"TextRun BCX0 SCXW257464218\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX0 SCXW257464218\">\u25c6International student&#8217;s perspective:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/weekly\/report-en\/2017\/08\/08\/33447\/\">Experiencing teaching at affiliated schools of Waseda University<\/a><br \/>\n<span class=\"TextRun BCX0 SCXW220472462\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX0 SCXW220472462\">\u25c6Japanese student&#8217;s perspective:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/icc\/news-en\/2017\/10\/07\/7886\/\">A truly new and unique experience<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25c6Junior high school student&#8217;s perspective:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/icc\/news-en\/2017\/10\/07\/7885\/\">Feeling the necessity of English ability through intercultural experience.<\/a><\/p>\n<h5><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Precautions to Prevent the Spread of the Novel\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Coronavirus<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">1.We ask that those affected by the following refrain from participating in this event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u30fbThose who have a fever (above 37.5C or more than 1 degree above normal) or symptoms of a cold and\/or those who currently feel unwell (symptoms of fatigue or breathlessness etc.).<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u30fbThose who have travelled to countries or regions and\/or have been in close contact\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">with residents of these places within the previous 14 days where the government has implemented immigration<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">restrictions or still requires a quarantine period to enter.<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u30fbThose who have family members and\/or housemates they are living with that have shown symptoms of cold etc.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">2.We ask that participants please wear a mask at all times. Also, that they observe strict hand disinfection and coughing\/sneezing etiquette.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">3.Regarding trash, please bring your own plastic trash bag with you and use it to keep your trash, please close the bag tightly when it is not being used.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">4.Please take strict care of your health from 2 weeks before the program right through to the end (regularly check your temperature and be aware of any other symptoms). We also ask that you avoid the 3 Cs (crowds, confined spaces and close contact situations) and fill in a health check form (we will share this form with you later on).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">5.In the event that you have a fever, cough or other symptoms during the program, we ask that you contact a member of staff immediately and that you withdraw from the program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">6.In the event that you begin to show symptoms within 2 weeks after the end of the program we ask that you notify us immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">7.We ask that you follow all instructions on the day from<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Waseda<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0University Junior High School\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">regarding measures for the prevention of the spread of the Novel\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Coronavirus<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">8.The &#8220;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Waseda<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">University student compensation system (Compensation for Disability and Liability Coverage)&#8221; which is a part of the university, does not apply to the Novel\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Coronavirus<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">9.Participation in this program may pose health and safety risks.
