For this program Waseda students will get to spend a day chatting in English with pupils at a Waseda affiliated elementary school.
\nNo Japanese language skills are needed and no advance preparation is required! Just enjoy chatting with the kids!<\/p>\n

The program is a great opportunity to see what Japanese school life is like and is ideal for those interested in cross-cultural education, volunteering and exchanging with Japanese pupils.

Theme<\/h5>\n

“English Speech Contest” (Tentative).
\nHelp the children prepare for an upcoming English speech contest, by helping them rehearse, practice their lines and enjoy simple English conversation.<\/p>\n

Up to 20 English speaking students (A lottery will be held if applicants exceed the capacity. Japanese students who speak English are very welcome!)<\/p>\n

\nHelp the children prepare for an upcoming performance of an English play by assisting them with lines, rehearsal, and enjoying simple English conversation.<\/p>\n

Waseda Jitsugyo Primary School (Kokubunji, Tokyo. 10 minute walk from Kokubunji Station)<\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/h5>\n

All Waseda students who can speak English (Native level fluency is NOT required).<\/p>\n

*ICC staff will not accompany participants on to this event.
\n*Transportation expenses will be provided by the school.
\n*Although this is a volunteer program, participants will be a part of a class at scheduled time for a school, and so dropping out of the program or being late is not acceptable.<\/p>\n
