If this is the year that you would like to give skiing or snowboarding a try but don’t want to break your budget, or if you would like to make new friends regardless of nationality, or even if you just have an opening in your schedule for the long spring break, then don’t miss this ideal chance to solve all of the above with the ICC’s No Border Skiing and Snowboarding Camp!<\/p>\n

Don’t worry if you have zero experience skiing or snowboarding.
\nThe camp includes lessons meant for beginners with an instructor who will make sure everyone has a safe, fun time. Moreover, the camp includes a stay at a hotel located right at the slopes!<\/p>\n

This camp will also use the ICC’s unique No Border rules.
\nThis means that using your real name, telling where you’re from or what year you are in school is not allowed throughout the trip.<\/p>\n

Come experience a deeper way of getting know people that comes without any preconceptions. By the end of the trip, you will have some winter sports skills and close connections with new friends, so come and join the fun!<\/p>\n

\u25c6ICC No Border Rules\u25c6<\/h6>\n

1. No asking or telling nationality, department, school year, age
\n2. No using real names, only nicknames
\n3. Can use English and Japanese only.
\n4. Must refrain from using your cell phone (except for taking photos).
\n5. Must proactively share your opinions, listen to others’ opinions, and have an open mind.<\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/h5>\n

Current Waseda students (first time\/beginner skiers or snowboarders are welcome too)
\n\u203bMust participate in the skiing\/snowboarding lessons.
\n\u203bMust choose whether you wish to ski or snowboard in advance.
\n\u203bMust be able to understand basic Japanese (skiing\/snowboarding instruction will be in Japanese only)<\/p>\n

120 people (30 minimum required)<\/p>\n

Fee<\/h5>\n

17,000yen (This is half price, the other half of the total fee is covered by ICC)<\/p>\n

Transportation, accommodation\uff082 nights, 6 meals), accident insurance, instruction fee, lift ticket<\/p>\n

Ski or snowboard rental, ski or snowboard wear rental, accessory rental (gloves, hat, goggles), helmet for snowboarding, personal expenses (laundry, additional food\/drinks, medical fees). For those wishing to rent the above items, additional fees will apply (depending the items, from 500 – 5,500 yen)<\/p>\n
