(Employee Engagement Department, Network Promotion Team)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/icc\/assets\/uploads\/2019\/10\/25ba873fa70154243d603b2bf0959fd6-1.pdf\">Poster<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Regardless of gender, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality or ethnicity society continues to value diversity more and more.<br \/>\nHowever, there are many who still have difficulty with diversity and multiculturalism in their everyday life.<\/p>\n<p>At the ICC we are holding a special talk on this theme of diversity in society with a parituclar focus on diversity in the workplace.<br \/>\nWe have invited Kouta Hanzawa, the person in charge of Rakuten Inc.&#8217;s diversity promotion project which seeks to create a workplace where all employee&#8217;s individual identities are respected and anyone can work comfortably, to talk about this &#8220;Rakuten Style&#8221; initiative.<\/p>\n<p>With over 5000 employees in 70 countries and regions, and English as the official language of the company, going to the entrance of Rakuten&#8217;s offices is like walking into an international airport with it&#8217;s huge variety of people. Within the company as well intercultural events such as Ramadan study groups and para-sports try-outs are enthusiastically held.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; How do you create a borderless and comfortable workplace?<br \/>\n&#8211; What is a working environment where anyone can use their abilities and work in their own way?<\/p>\n<p>This is a great opportunity to increase your understanding of diversity and learn about the way of thinking about co-existence.<br \/>\nDon&#8217;t miss this valuable chance!
