Have you ever listened to a live mandolin performance?
\nThe Italian mandolin, the type most often played today, was born in Napoli in the 19th century.<\/p>\n

It is an essential instrument for Neopolitan folk music and also used in a wide variety of classical music.
\nThe mandolin is also familiar as one of the first instruments for children because its tuning is the same as the violin.<\/p>\n

This time, the ICC will be hosting a special talk session and performance with world renowned mandolin performer Carlo Aonzo.
\nHe has even previously performed for Pope John Paul II in Rome!
\nThere will also be a special session in collaboration with the Waseda University Mandolin Club.<\/p>\n

From bright and energetic to melancholic and sorrowful, this is your chance to experience the beautiful sounds of the mandolin live.
\nFirst time listeners are very welcome. Don’t miss out!<\/p>\n

Carlo Aonzo (Mandolin Performer)<\/strong>
\nWorld renowned mandolin player from Savona, Italy. Has played at Carnegie Hall in New York amongst other activities.
\nOne of the researchers of the “New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians”. Graduate of the Cesare Pollini Conservatory in Padua in 1993.
