Enjoy a full-scale Japanese tea ceremony while listening to the traditional musical
\ninstruments of Japan; the koto, shamisen and shakuhachi flute.
\nFeel the culture of Japan against the background of the trees of Okuma Garden.
\nThis event is being held with the cooperation of Waseda University Traditional Japanese Music Club (Chikuyuukai) and Waseda University Tea Ceremony Club.<\/p>\n

If you have an interest in Japanese culture, traditional Japanese music, tea ceremony or Waseda student clubs,
\nwe’re waiting for you so come and join us. You can apply at the ICC lounge on the first floor of building 3 so
\ndrop in and apply, don’t miss this chance!<\/p>\n

\u2605Waseda University Traditional Japanese Music Club (Chikuyuukai)
\nThe Traditional Japanese Instrumental Club will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year. They play the koto, shamisen and shakuhachi flute.
\nEvery year they give two large performances and are taught by a professional teacher.
\nThey conduct their activities on Saturdays and taught whenever their members can get together and depending on the progress of the practice.
\nThey also have training camp trips, mixers with other universities and student clubs and conduct many other performances and events.<\/p>\n

\u2605Waseda University Tea Ceremony Club
\nWaseda’s only Japanese tea-ceremony club.
\nWithin the club, one can choose to be taught and practice the styles of either Omotesenke or Urasenke tea ceremony.
\nAs well as everyday practice, the club also holds several tea gatherings per year and has a training camp every September.
\nThey also do club activities like tea ceramics making, tea scoop carving and flower viewing throughout the year.<\/p>\n
