We are happy to inform you that, for the second year in a row, we will be holding the WASEDA LGBT ALLY WEEK.\u00a0 The Gender and Sexuality center would like to make this a very fun event for everyone! The main information concerning the event is as follows.<\/p>\n

\u300aWhat is the WASEDA LGBT ALLY WEEK? \u300b<\/h4>\n

Focusing in sexual minorities, this is an event that aims to make Waseda University a place where you can you can be the \u201cyourself\u201d you want to be. Thus, this year\u2019s theme is \u201cAnyone can become another person\u2019s ally\u201d.<\/p>\n

Also considering the fact that this year we have many new students, we are holding this event again so that we can have even more Waseda students learn to respect \u201cother people\u201d the way they are, beyond any differences in sexuality. We wish to make it so that this initiative doesn\u2019t end up being only a one-time event!<\/p>\n

\u300aWhat is an ALLY?\u300b<\/h4>\n

ALLY is a word that means someone that \u201csupports\u201d and \u201cunderstands\u201d sexual minorities in general.<\/p>\n

For this event, we use that word with the meaning that an ALLY is someone that can respect \u201cother people\u201d the way they are. Furthermore, being an ALLY doesn\u2019t have anything to do with your sexuality. Sexual minority or not, anyone can become someone else\u2019s ALLY.<\/p>\n
