In the “Rainbowing Waseda Project,” for the 2022 WASEDA ALLY WEEKS, our student staff took the lead in creating and displaying posters to introduce the diversity of gender and sexuality.
These posters can be now accessed as infographics.
The University has published its “Guide to Consideration and Accommodation for LGBTQ+ Students” for faculty and staff to gain an empathetic, basic understanding of sexual minorities and allow our diverse student body to comfortably attend university and get the most out of their student lives.

Based on the concept of Universal Design and our aim to create an inclusive campus, information related to gender-neutral / accessible restrooms, childcare facilities, as well as barrier-free facilities such as entrances, slopes, and elevators can be found on this map.
As the following signage for gender-neutral/accessible restrooms at each campus shows, the amenities of each restroom, such as wheelchair compatibility, ostomate compatibility, diaper-changing table, baby chair, care bed, and changing board, are indicated with icons. Anyone can use these toilets, regardless of gender.
Please refer to the Waseda University Campus Accessibility Map for locations.
A video content was created with the purpose of increasing the number of allies (those who acknowledge and support sexual minorities.) The content includes; 1. Concepts related to LGBTQ+/SOGI; 2. Things you can do to become an ally; 3. Coming out of the closet and outing; and 4. What to do when someone comes out to you or when you are having troubles.
