On December 9, 2019, the first exchange class between employees of Waseda University\u2019s special subsidiary company, Waseda University Polaris Inc., and students of Professor Masahiko Genma\u2019s seminar in the School of Social Sciences. The class featured video footage of employees utilizing their individuality and aptitude as they engage in various duties, such as cleaning, sorting mail, and data entry. By asking questions and learning about the employees\u2019 duties, students deepened their understanding \u00a0regarding\u00a0 the importance of the employment of people with disabilities by the University that always pursues \u00a0diversity and social inclusion.<\/p>\n

The class was a valuable learning opportunity for both groups. One student commented, \u201cI learned disabled individuals are tasked with important work that demands precision; I respect them and am grateful for their amazing focus and dedication,\u201d and an employee said, \u201cI was able to see my work in a new light.\u201d<\/p>\n
