As the famous quote by Michael Eisner says, “Diversity is a great force towards creativity”. How can we encourage diversity in universities, workplaces and society? We invite you to listen to Riccarda Zezza, an Ashoka Fellow, regarding the concept of “MaaM” and learn from discussions with Ricarda, WASEDA students, and Mizuho Bank workers.

Riccarda believes that work-life balance should radically be redefined, so parents can stop seeing their time off work spent with their children in conflict with their careers. To reach this objective, she works with employers, particularly in the corporate world helping them to stop seeing maternity leave and parental care as a burden, but as a time for developing key skills that are useful for personal as well as professional development. Riccarda refers to this concept as MaaM, Maternity as a Master(s).

Date and time: Thursday, November 15, 2018 18: 15-20: 30 (opening 17: 30)

Venue: Waseda University Waseda Campus Building 14, Room 102

Language: English (No interpreter)

Participation Fee: Free

Eligibility: Waseda Students, Staff and General Public

Registration: Please apply from here.

Organizer:　WASEDA-EDGE Global Talent Development Program Office for Promotion of Equality and Diversity, Waseda University

Cooperation：Ashoka Japan 　General Mizuho Bank

Program

18：15　Opening

　Opening Speech from Waseda

18：25

　Introduction of ASHOKA

18：40

　[Lecture] Riccarda Zessa

19：30

　break

19：40-20:30

Dialogue with Riccarda Zezza: Waseda students and Mizuho Bank workers (Panel Discussion)

Lecture：Riccarda Zezza

Ashoka Fellow/Fellow Since 2016/ Italy

https://www.ashoka.org/ja/fellow/riccarda-zezza

Panelist

Seiya Ashikari
Post grdduate in science and engineering.
