“Life is Beautiful ! : Suggestions from your Experienced Senpai Elders about How to Enjoy Both Work and Family Life”<\/h2>\n

The Rikoh Tea Time Symposium was held on November 13, 2024. A total of 45 individuals attended the event, including both in-person and online attendees.<\/p>\n

\u25b2 Part 1 : Presentation of keynote speeches<\/p><\/div>\n

This annual event provides a platform for young researchers and students of the Faculty of Science and Engineering (\u201cRikoh\u201d) to reflect on their life trajectories and ways to boost their careers. Another purpose is to foster effective human networks to help stimulate research motivation.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This year marked the 10th iteration of the Tea Time symposium. To better ascertain the needs of the attendees, a questionnaire survey was conducted prior to the event. Consequently, the symposium focused on the most cited topic: \u201cPeople who are active in their companies while achieving a balance between their working lives and life events (marriage, childbirth, child-raising, etc.).\u201d Three former graduates of the Waseda University Faculty of Science and Engineering were invited to speak as instructors.<\/p>\n

With Dr. Akari Takayama, an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, serving as the emcee, the keynote speakers shared their personal experiences and thoughts about childbirth and childcare. They introduced the support systems available at their respective companies and offered valuable suggestions and practical advice on balancing work with life events. The second part of the symposium featured a panel discussion, where the instructors responded to questions from the audience at the venue and pre-submitted questions. The lively interactions made for deep and enriching exchanges.<\/p>\n
