When requested by a person with a disability, the law obligates the &#8220;provision of reasonable accommodation&#8221; and &#8220;improvement of environmental spaces and conditions.&#8221; The law&#8217;s end goal is the realization of a fully inclusive society.<\/p>\n<p>An Amendment of the Act in 2021 stipulated that, in addition to governmental and administrative institutions and agencies, private enterprises will also be obligated from April 2024 to &#8220;provide reasonable accommodation.&#8221; The law requires that &#8220;within a university, when the opinion has been expressed that there exist any barriers that make it difficult to attend lectures, study in classes, perform research, and\/or to perform daily life activities,&#8221; then the said university is required to respond in said cases, to the extent where the burden on the said university is not excessive.<\/p>\n<p>As for the said required responses, it is significant that there be repeated dialogue between the person or persons with disability and the relevant private enterprise, etc. The significance of &#8220;constructive dialogue&#8221; toward the examination of solution strategies is also emphasized.
