M. Wieland and A. Schweitzer can be compared with <i>Alceste<\/i> (1674) of Quinault\/Lully and <i>Alceste<\/i> (Italian version 1767, French version 1776), which is composed by Gluck, in that they are all based on the work of Euripides and focus on the verisimilitude of the drama. Referring to the essay \u201cVersuch \u00fcber das Teutsche Singspiel\u201d by Wieland and some important events such as the controversy about \u201cAlceste\u201d in France and the Operatic reforms by Gluck, I will observe the tense relationship between the verisimilitude and the marvelous in the libretto of <i>Alceste<\/i> by Wieland.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Attention<\/h5>\n<p>Registration is required by October 6th (Wed.). His research field is German Literature and Literature Theory in the 18th century. He focuses on the works of Jean Paul (1763-1825) and the poetic theories in the early Enlightenment in Germany. \u201c <i>Wahrheit<\/i> and <i>Wahrscheinlichkeit<\/i> in <i>Critische Dichtkunst<\/i> of J.J.Breitinger\u201d(2011), \u201cThe proper name <i>Paul<\/i> in Jean Paul\u2019s <i>Selberlebensbeschreibung<\/i>\u201d (2019)<\/p>\n<h5>Next meeting<\/h5>\n<p>Next meeting will be held on 6th Nov.
