What you need to know before applying for certificates<\/h2>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 1. When is your Certificate of Completion (Diploma) sent out?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The certificates will be sent from the Center for Japanese Language (CJL), free of charge, at the end of March 2026. It will be delivered in April 2026 or later<\/strong><\/span>. \u00a0A Certificate of Completion will be sent only to those who have fulfilled the requirements for completion<\/a>.\u00a0 It is not possible to specify the timing of shipment.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 2. What should I do if I need a certificate?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Please submit a regular online application at the Waseda Portal Office (WPO) website<\/a>. A download link for the digital certificate (PDF data of the certificate) can be sent directly to your employer, educational or research institution, etc.<\/p>\n

Please be sure to check “When will online application be available?” below to find out when online application will be available. However, certificates that are not available for online application must be applied for and paid for at our office by January 30, 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

When will online application be available?<\/a><\/p>\n

\u203bIf you apply online, shipping fees apply for certificates other than digital certificates.\u00a0 If you are not in a hurry, we can send them together with your diploma. Therefore, please apply at the CJL office instead of applying online.<\/b> (Shipping is free)<\/p>\n

4. How to specify the address to receive your Diploma and certificates applied for at the CJL office<\/h3>\n

Please register the address to receive the certificates through the “Shipping Address Registration Form for Diploma\/Transcripts.” The form will be sent to your Waseda email address in the middle of January, 2026. Please check your Waseda email and complete it by the due date.<\/p>\n

How to apply for Certificates<\/h2>\n

Please bring the following required documents to the CJL office to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

  • Valid ID (original): e.g.) Waseda University student ID card, passport, or residence card.<\/li>\n
  • Cash for the certificate fee (300 yen per sheet)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    *Payments for the certificate fee can only be made in cash.<\/p>\n

    Examples of unavailable payment methods:
    \nBank transfers, credit cards, other electronic payments,\u00a0 bank checks, sending money by mail, International Reply Coupon, payment by postal stamp for certificate fees<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
