What about the Tokyo of 50 years ago?<\/p>\n<p>The history of &#8220;TODEN&#8221; can be traced back to the end of MEIJI period around 1900, when it was used as the main type of public transport by Tokyoites.<br \/>\nJust like today&#8217;s subway lines, it reached almost every area in downtown, carrying as many as two million passengers per day by 1940.<\/p>\n<p>As times changed, the TODEN was gradually replaced by other types of public transport and disappeared from the streets around 1970,<br \/>\nexcept for the Arakawa Line which still runs today as the last publicly owned tram line and has it&#8217;s terminal just next to our campus!<\/p>\n<p>In this event, participants will have the opportunity to venture through the rich nature and the old town streets along Arakawa Line in groups.<\/p>\n<p>You will also have to complete various photo missions while walking through the high streets and back streets of the Arakawa Line neighbourhoods;<br \/>\nsuch as finding &#8220;the tomb of the famous author near XXX station&#8221; or &#8220;the mysterious mascot near XXX station&#8221; together with your group members<br \/>\nand the winning team will win a prize!<\/p>\n<p>Come along and join us to discover the nostalgic side of the city and have great fun interacting with students from different cultural backgrounds!<\/p>\n<h5>Date&amp;Time<\/h5>\n<p>November 19th (Sat) 13:00 &#8211; 17:00 (Reception from 12:45)<\/p>\n<h5>Place<\/h5>\n<p>Meet at the ICC lounge (1st Floor, Bldg.
