Today in Tokyo, there is a wide variety of public transport like Japan Railways, subways or buses. What about the Tokyo of 50 years ago?<\/p>\n

The history of “TODEN” can be traced back to the end of MEIJI period around 1900, when it was used as the main type of public transport by Tokyoites.
\nJust like today’s subway lines, it reached almost every area in downtown, carrying as many as two million passengers per day by 1940.<\/p>\n

As times changed, the TODEN was gradually replaced by other types of public transport and disappeared from the streets around 1970,
\nexcept for the Arakawa Line which still runs today as the last publicly owned tram line and has it’s terminal just next to our campus!<\/p>\n

In this event, participants will have the opportunity to venture through the rich nature and the old town streets along Arakawa Line in groups.<\/p>\n

You will also have to complete various photo missions while walking through the high streets and back streets of the Arakawa Line neighbourhoods;
\nsuch as finding “the tomb of the famous author near XXX station” or “the mysterious mascot near XXX station” together with your group members
\nand the winning team will win a prize!<\/p>\n

Come along and join us to discover the nostalgic side of the city and have great fun interacting with students from different cultural backgrounds!<\/p>\n

MC will be in both Japanese & English.<\/p>\n

Free (Please purchase your own Toden Arakawa Line 1-Day ticket for 400 yen)<\/p>\n
